Our PhD candidates presented their work at the WESC2023 conference. They could network with the 1000 attendees of the event in Glasgow, including some fellow PhD candidates from other European projects. This was a great moment to exchange knowledge and get back to the host institutions full of new ideas and impulse.

Visit to the Kincardine floating wind farm

In May 2023, the PhD candidates within STEP4WIND have reached a great milestone in their research work! They have been able to visit the world’s largest floating wind farm in Kincardine, Aberdeen harbor. Nothing better to witness the scale of these turbines! Ambassador for OffshoreWind4Kids

STEP4WIND and TU Delft are working together with OffshoreWind4Kids to disseminate offshore floating wind energy to a wide public. The university has received a set of dissemination kits which will be used for different outreach activities in the coming months. The project coordinator is leading the collaboration together with colleagues at TU Delft.

TU Delft supported the OffshoreWind4Kids outreach event in Scheveningen on 19 September 2021. A few of our PhD students and staff attended the event and helped out with kids building both bottom-mounted and floating wind turbines. More information about this initiative here .
